MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Primary Job Description
A vacancy exists for a Mechanical Engineer to be part of a small team of hands-on engineers working on the design and implementation of machinery for the introduction of new products and processes to the manufacturing area.

The successful applicant will:
Participate in multi-discipline teams and effecting engineering solutions to ensure satisfactory introduction of new project manufacturing equipment.
Design and procurement of new plant and machinery.
Services to support the above objectives. Includes negotiation and purchasing from UK and European based suppliers for anything from individual engineering components to large machines.
Assist in support and training engineering personnel to ensure systems put in are maintained in satisfactory condition to provide lone and efficient service.
Providing well informed and up to date engineering expertise to assist solving manufacturing problems and to improve efficiency and performance.

Required Skills
The applicant will not necessarily need to be degree qualified but prepared to grow with the job and learn and improve based from a good engineering background in a manufacturing environment.

External Candidates should preferably be to degree or HND/HNC standard in a related discipline.

Experience of the Motor industry, while not essential, would also be a distinct advantage.

Salary: c£22k
(all remuneration in UK Pounds Sterling)
