Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager
Primary function would be to assume responsibility for site service support to the Crawley facility and day to day routine maintenance activities
Liase with Sub-contractors regarding contracts & specification
Evaluate the annual service contracts and any budget/capital expenditure that may be required for the facility
Ensure when contractors are on site that there is effective liaison/co-ordination from minor changes to major upgrades (projects)
Assisting with compiling and maintaining procedures/works instructions for the Site Service department to satisfy BSI 9000 & 14000 requirements
Obtain costs for alterations/ building /civil engineering projects and submit implications (CAD drawings) for both planning and buildings control
Identify potential cost savings in water/energy usage and source alternative sub-contractors for potential reductions on the annual maintenance contracts
Maintain a constant appreciation and understanding of appropriate modern technologies and processes relating to the position
Perform other related duties as directed by the general needs of the department
Ideally qualified to City & Guilds in Building Studies or equivalent qualification and/or a recognised maintenance apprenticeship
A combination of relevant technical education (IEE qualified) and practical experience gained in a manufacturing facility/environment
Experience of single and three phase electrics in accordance with latest IEE regulations
A sound knowledge of applicable Health & Safety regulations and responsibility to ensure that contractors adhere to these regulations
A good general all round knowledge for the repair of office & factory equipment and servicing of same
A minimum of 12 months in a similar position
A current full driving licence
